The chain

Chain monitoring on phones will be a web page, not a native app

A session planned how the chain's monitoring will reach a phone, then started building it, with no result recorded yet. The plan is a single web page with one layout that resizes to fit any screen, no device detection and no native app. It can be added to an iPhone home screen like an app, and it sends web push notifications as a second free alert channel. The existing paging service stays the pager for urgent alerts because web push cannot break through Focus or Do Not Disturb; web push carries warnings and recoveries.

The build is planned in three steps: a new version of the watchdog script that checks the chain's health, a status page checked from outside the chain's own machines, and a separate monitoring machine for metrics and dashboards. The watchdog script was edited and a deploy was logged, but whether it works is not recorded. Separately, a commit described the chain's third validator, the machine that helps produce and finalize blocks, along with live settings that had been brought into line by hand.
